"Wild Charges"
I asked to settle my account on 12/9/22 and cleared my balance completely. Then on 1/13/23, I get a notice saying I owe $4.65. Turns out, it’s $2.65 in interest that got slapped on after I thought I was done paying. Now, I’m being charged interest on that interest! I gave the online assistant a shot, but Sidney wasn’t any help and just said they couldn’t do anything. So, I went ahead and paid it off and shut down my account.

"Awful Experience"
So, it seems you gotta settle the balance before six months, or they hit you with a hundred bucks. I reached out to ask if they could close my account before that time, and I planned to pay off the balance without any interest. But guess what? They still charged me. It’s frustrating that they ignore the wrong info I got from their representative. It’s a shame that some folks working there don’t seem to know how to be truthful and honest.

"Worst customer service I've ever dealt with!"
I was trying to settle the remaining balance so my husband could access the account for a big dental expense coming up. I made several attempts to call and confirm the payoff figure, but no luck. So, I went ahead and paid the amount listed on their site, which included some interest that I shouldn't have to pay. Instead of processing my payment, they sent an email saying they were changing the monthly amount I had just paid the day before! I replied to that email (since they’re impossible to reach by phone) — but it bounced back as 'undeliverable' because their inbox is full, along with three pages of nonsense. YIKES!

"Beware of This Promo Deal!"
If I could, I'd give it a big fat '0' stars. My pup needed urgent care on a weekend, so I decided to use Care Credit since I was told it was interest-free for the first 18 months. I figured that after that period, they'd start charging interest on whatever was left. But boy, was I in for a surprise when they slapped interest on the original balance! The interest was nearly as much as what I had already paid in those 18 months! I've dealt with plenty of promotional credit cards before, and I've NEVER seen anything like this. Usually, once the promo ends, they only charge interest on the remaining balance. Just a heads up!

"Not Too Shabby, Just Make Sure to READ THE FINE PRINT."
Alright, I gotta say, this thing saved my cat's life and helped my wallet too. Just make sure to pay off the promotional period on time, and you won’t rack up any interest. If you slip up, even if it’s just 40 bucks left, you’ll end up paying ALL the interest, not just on that 40.

Their terms can be a bit tricky, but don’t hesitate to call customer service and ask a ton of questions. Also, don’t just stick to the minimum payment. You can do the minimum, but split it into two payments a month (like, pay a chunk twice a month from your paycheck).

This card has also helped boost my credit score a bit.

If you’re in a pinch and doing it online, make sure you handle it that same day. Once you get instant approval, you gotta use that card within the first 24 hours for whatever you need until the physical card arrives.

For purchases under 200 bucks, you’ve got 25 days to pay it back without any interest.

Read the fine print, folks. Sure, it seems a bit sketchy, but everything’s laid out clearly if you’re upfront about it. You can definitely use this interest-free. I haven’t had any problems so far.

Can I update this if my experience changes later? For now, I’m the only one giving it a 4-star rating here because they get a bad rap. They’re way better than a payday loan.

You can use it for medical stuff, hospital emergencies, and I think there are other things too, like food—there’s a whole list. It’s really meant for emergencies, so keep it that way.

AND PAY THAT BALANCE ASAP!!!! Also, when you sign up, call customer service and ask them every question you can think of to dodge interest. The website can make it look like a “no interest card” to some folks.

I checked them out 10 years ago, saw their terms, and thought, “no way!” but they’ve really improved since then.

Pro tip: Don’t use Autopay. Set your payments manually. When you pay, schedule the next one for the following pay period. Autopay can be risky; things can change.

For instance, I’ve got 12 months to pay off 500 bucks. The minimum payment is 30, but I’ll never clear it that way, so I’m doing 50 bucks every paycheck. This should help me avoid interest with plenty of time to spare.

"This service is perfect for those who enjoy incompetence and endless waiting!"
This awful company had employees acknowledge that charging me the full amount was a glitch after I set up auto payments twice, and it deducted the entire sum for two consecutive months. I have emails that show I completed the setup and documented all my conversations. THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS. I never received a callback from their so-called 'specialists' at any point. They still went ahead and closed my account, showing zero accountability. Go ahead and use this service if you’re keen on getting ripped off, as they’ll take three weeks to refund you, only to do it all over again the following month.

"Fraudsters!"
This business is the worst of the worst. They pile on interest over interest! After you eventually 'settle' your balance, they shut down your account and ruin your credit rating! It's a really deceptive company, and I would NEVER suggest it to anyone!

"A Pack of Deceivers"
I've been using CareCredit for several years without ever missing a payment. Recently, my bank mistakenly put a hold on my account. I called CareCredit twice to sort it out, and they assured me everything was okay. But today, I found out they shut down my account! I told them I could get a letter from the bank proving it wasn’t my fault. They gave me some nonsense about how when I got the card, I agreed that if there was a returned check, they could close my account. I asked to see that in writing, and they started backtracking. The supervisor was a total jerk when I asked him to review my documented calls about this issue. I've paid thousands on time, never late, and never had a returned check, and this is how they treat loyal customers? No loyalty whatsoever! STAY AWAY FROM THEM. If you hit a rough patch or make a tiny mistake, they show no mercy and really go after you. Oh, and they raised my payment significantly on the balance I owe! What a shining example of poor business ethics. And good luck finding someone who speaks English at that company!

"THE LOW POINT OF HUMANITY"
The mere existence of something like 'pet insurance' really highlights the low point of humanity. Animals were around way before we ever showed up, and it's our duty to look after them without trying to cash in. Those who impose these ridiculous charges and offer this so-called pet insurance? They’ve got a special spot waiting for them in HELL.

"Beware of CareCredit!"
If you don’t pay off your loan before the promotion ends, they hit you with an interest rate that’s just outrageous! I took out $2000, made my monthly payments, and then ended up with an extra $700 in interest! Watch out for CareCredit!

"Terrible Camera Experience"
I got totally duped by this site. No trust at all! I'm really mad about how things went down. This website is just a scam, plain and simple. They keep pulling the same tricks over and over, and it's infuriating!

"Save your time and skip this!"
We've used this card twice now. Back in 2020, everything went smoothly. We arranged to pay in six parts to avoid any interest. Did the same for this recent charge. The first payment went through without a hitch. But on the second one, they deducted the whole amount. When I reached out, they said they could issue a refund, but it would take 10-15 days for a check to arrive. Honestly, I'm finished with Care Credit. Plus, I spent 15 minutes on the phone with their automated system, answering the same questions repeatedly before finally getting in line.

"The Absolute Worst Card"
I signed up for this card and got a $3K credit limit. Used it once or maybe twice - total charges were around 250 bucks. Had no problems with payments. Then, months later, with no balance owed, they slashed my credit limit to less than half. Just got an email today, six months later, saying they closed the card. This is the worst card to have; the interest rates are sky-high, and there are really no perks. Honestly, I'm relieved it's closed since I wasn't planning to use it anyway. I could understand if I had missed payments, but nah, I would never recommend this company to anyone. If you're thinking about applying... just don't. There are way better cards out there that offer superior rates and deals. That card is a total joke. Poor quality.

"Caution for Shoppers"
Steer clear of this company if you're looking to purchase hearing aids. They claim that if you settle the cost of the hearing aid within a year, there won't be any interest fees. It gives off the vibe of a loan since they cover the hearing aid's price. But watch out, because you'll get slammed with late fees like nobody's business. So, just don't bother.

"I’d give zero stars if I could."
Care credit is nothing like what they claim to be. They really don’t care! This company is just plain evil and terrible! Right when you’re close to paying it off, they’ll slap all the interest back on without a heads up. It’s all about corporate greed! Seriously, steer clear of them!

CareCredit Q&A

Does care credit or has care credit closed anyones account for not being used , besides myself and has made my credit score go down

TerranceHall
October 26, 2020

“Yes, and when called, could care less. They really left me in a lurch. They closed my account after I paid with zero late payments.”

Promotional Period- Who determines the promotional period. The provider or CareCredit.

sadostrich684
July 09, 2019

“CareCredit determines it. Charges of $200 or more have a promotional period of six months for interest free payments.”

I am 11 days late on a payment and want to know can I still use it

Juanita.Warren
July 21, 2019

“You can still use it but because you missed your payment they are going to hit you with fees and interest. I just canceled the card because my payments were not making a dent.”

Do you have to have a certain credit score?

Danny.Hoffman
April 19, 2021

“Yes I had a certain credit score and Care Credit was kindly asked if they could offer more time on promotion due to COV-19 and they stated no.”

If I was interest free during the promotional period then why were fees and interest on my bill every single month?

biggoose482
July 09, 2019

“If you have missed a payment or was late, your promotional period would have been canceled and interest would be added. Could also be that your promotional period has expired, for they only last six months. Paying the incorrect amount can also cause issues. As a rule of thumb that I go by is, pay early and pay above the minimum amount requested. For example if the min payment is $28.00 I pay $35.00 or more. By doing this I ensure I don't get penalized and I pay off the debt early.”
